A $1 MILLION Play It Again! Winner!

A dozen Tennessee Lottery players who entered non-winning instant tickets into the Play It Again! drawing won a total of over $1.4 million in cash prizes this week—including one lucky winner of $1 million.

“I didn’t believe it,” said Taffy Medders, the winner of a whopping $1 million. “And now that I’m here (at the Lottery headquarters), and I’m still having a hard time with it!” Taffy, an electrician, says she will use some of the winnings to pay off land that she owns outside of Florence, Alabama.

Ms. Medders’ million-dollar win is the 122nd prize of $1 million or more since the Tennessee Lottery began selling tickets in January 2004.

For Phillip McIntosh of Memphis, winning $100,000 will allow him to buy a reliable new car before he does anything else. “I had to borrow one just to drive up here!” he said. Mr. McIntosh won by entering a non-winning Money Tree instant ticket.

A group of sisters from Cookeville filled the Lottery offices with laughter and smiles when they came to collect a $250,000 prize, won from entering a non-winning Black Platinum instant ticket.

Other winners include:

Monica Davis of Antioch, $100,000 from a Black Pearls ticket
Andra Crowder of Tellico Plains, $50,000 from a Bingo! Extra ticket
Vicki Summers of Loudon, $20,000 from a $20,000 Cash Deposit ticket
Lucinda McGill of Madison, AL, $20,000 from a Hot Cash ticket
Lauren Lavallee of Louisville, TN, $20,000 from a Buckets of Cash ticket
Monica Santy of Harvest, AL, $1,000 from a Quick $100 ticket
Allen McBee of Powell, $1,000 from a Hot $1,000 ticket
Lanitra Watson of Nashville, $1,000 from a Solid Gold ticket
Tracy Morgan of Benton, $1,000 from a Fantastic 5’s ticket

To “Play it Again,” players simply visit www.tnottery.com or www.tnvipsuite.com and become a VIP Players Suite member (free). Once registered, non-winning instant tickets may be entered in the drawings. By entering tickets, VIP Members also receive points to use in the Lottery’s VIP Store, which features an extensive variety of merchandise, travel packages, and other items. For added convenience, players may also register at one of the Lottery’s kiosks in its District Offices in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis or Nashville.
