The Powerball drawing held Wednesday, Sept. 24, created over 16,000 winning tickets in Tennessee alone, including one purchased in Memphis now worth $1 million. The $228.5 million winning jackpot ticket was sold in California.
$320,000 "TENNESSEE CASH" WIN IN ARDMORE

A lucky Tennessee Cash ticket purchased by a player in Ardmore is now worth $320,000 after the drawing held Sept. 22. This is the second jackpot win this month for this in-state drawing-style. No additional information is available until the prize is claimed.

$1 MILLION LOTTERY WINNER SAYS HE’LL KEEP WORKING

A dedicated painter from Ardmore, Tenn. says he will take a vacation—but won’t stop working even though he just won a whopping $1 million by entering a non-winning Lottery ticket into a second-chance drawing. “It’s just a shocker, a real shocker!” said Stoney Green, who has lived in this Giles County town all his life. “We’re going to take a vacation, but I’m going to keep on working.”
Lottery Marks 10th Consecutive Record Year

Posting its tenth consecutive year of increased sales, today the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation announced its sales and proceeds figures for Fiscal Year 2014. The Lottery reported $1.417 Billion in total sales for Fiscal Year 2014, an increase of $49 Million over last year’s previous sales record of $1.368 Billion. This year’s sales resulted in a contribution of $337.2 Million for the education programs funded by the Lottery.

$259.8 MILLION POWERBALL WINNER CLAIMS PRIZE!

After what seemed like an eternity but what was in fact a mere 22 days, the winner of the largest jackpot in Tennessee Lottery history came forward today to claim his $259.8 million Powerball prize won from the drawing held June 11. Amid TV cameras and cheers from an enthusiastic crowd of well-wishers at Lottery headquarters in Nashville, Knoxville native Roy Cockrum, 58, stood for pictures with Lottery President and CEO Rebecca Hargrove and the traditional oversized winner’s “check” after presenting his winning ticket earlier to Lottery officials.
